How to have a healthy curry
"Eat this. Eat that. You can't eat this. You can't it that." Health and fitness is becoming increasingly popular. With more and more people watching what they eat, we thought it'd be a good time to write this blog post on "How to have a healthy curry."
Believe it or not, you can have a guilt free curry which won't make you worry about your health nor your waistline. After all, Health is Wealth!
Here's how to have a healthy curry that you can still enjoy.
Starter: If you are looking to have a starter, a poppadom is a much better option as opposed to having dishes such as an onion bhaji or samosas. Poppadoms rock in at only 65 calories so it is a great starter to go for.

Main Dishes:
If you want a healthy curry, you must avoid the creamy curries. For example masala and korma dishes are very creamy and thus will be filled with calories. Tomato based dishes are some of the healthiest such as tandoori, bhuna and madras. Curries that are chicken, prawn and vegetable tend to have less calories than dishes with lamb and beef.

Sides: Undecided between a naan or rice, go for rice. To make having rice with your curry even healthier, boiled rice is your best option. This is much more healthier than fried rice and still tastes great mixed in with your curry. If you really want a bread side, a chapati is similar to a naan bread but contains less calories.

To Drink: If you are out for curry, you may be tempted to swill your food down with an alcoholic beverage, but why not opt for a cold glass of water instead. Not only is water packed with health benefits, it is great way to cool your mouth down from any spices. Too add some flavour and some extra health benefits, add a slice of lemon to your glass.

So there you have it. A healthy curry dish that you can still enjoy and will still taste amazing. Come into Kohinoor and try one for yourself.
