Phaall
The phaall is one of the hottest curries imaginable! This Indian dish originated in our home-town Birmingham, UK. It consists of a number of standard, hot chilli peppers such as the habanero. It's standard form is a thick tomato-based sauce, ginger and fennel. In the UK, most Indian restaurants class their 'Phaall' as the hottest dish on the menu.
Vindaloo
The vindaloo is one of the more popular hot dishes, particularly in Indian restaurants in the UK. Although it's not deemed as the hottest curry on many menus; it's spices are still incredibly fierce and certainly not the dish for those with sensitive taste buds! Vindaloo is recommended to be served with a chicken filling and it's standard form includes an addition of vinegar, chilli peppers and potatoes.
Madras
The madras is a highly popular Indian dish in the UK, and is renowned for it's red colour and heavy contents of chilli powder. Some restaurants add yoghurt to reduce the spiciness of the dish and give it a lighter, creamier colour. Chicken Madras is it's most popular form, however many Indian restaurants in the UK offer it to be served with Lamb, Prawns or Tikka. It's spices aren't as fierce as dishes such as the Phaall or Vindaloo.
Jalfrezi
Another popular spicy dish is the Jalfrezi, most commonly served as a Chicken Jalfrezi. It involves an array of fresh chillies, accompanied by tomatoes and onions in a dark, red curry sauce. It's recognised for it's dry, thick texture and is complimented well served with a pilau rice.
